Governor Visit Report
Who: Gavin Tulk
Purpose of visit: Fun Day
The sun has got his hat on and all the children (and staff) came out to play. The weather couldn't have been much different for fun day mark two; parents searching for a bit of shade and the children very grateful for Mrs. Skinner's insistence on hats and full water bottles. The refreshments break came at just the right time to allow everyone to recharge their batteries and even offered the essential summer sporting snack of scones, with jam and cream!
The Fun day gave the children the opportunity to showcase their PE skills developed over the school year. The morning was broken up over nine events allowing the children to show skills in ball control, running, jumping, throwing, rhythm and balance. They worked hard to gain the stickers and medals for finishing the activities cheering on their team and class mates alike, with just the right amount of healthy competition. The parents also had the opportunity to show their skills by joining in with the keep fit session.
The children responded well to the directions given to them by their classroom teachers and learning support staff, which meant that the morning ran smoothly despite having to navigate 200 plus children around the events. I'm sure everyone who attended the day, and all those who unfortunately had to miss out, would want to express a big thanks for all the support the children have received over the past year from the school staff. We also mustn't forget the extra support for fun day from the pupils of Crestwood, Technico for the specialist sports coaching and Mrs. Fern the fitness instructor.
