Welcome back. We hope you had a good Easter!
This half term is all about a project called Message in a bottle.
The children will be introduced to the topic on pirates by receiving a message in a bottle from Pirate Pete, who needs a new crew for his pirate ship. We will set up the role play area as a pirate ship and encourage the children to learn the skills they will need to become a member of a pirate crew. The children will explore floating and sinking and use their knowledge to design and make a new boat for Pirate Pete. The children will learn 5 basic skills over the weeks, this included counting treasure, balancing and climbing, creating a treasure map, building a boat and lastly writing a pirate log. The children will receive a certificate rewarding them for learning pirate skills at a Pirate Graduation. All children are invited to dress up as a pirate on Wednesday 22nd May 2019 for our Graduation.
