Dear Parents and Carers,

SPORTS CONNECTION FOUNDATION : PROKICK SPONSORED EVENT

FRIDAY JUNE 28th

Today we had an assembly from Prokick to launch our sponsored charity fundraising for this year.
M
oney raised from the ProKick Schools Challenge is partly split with the schools that take part. Their share helps to fund many worthwhile activities. For example 'Sporting Wishes' provides children facing life limiting illnesses with some much needed respite from grueling treatments and lengthy hospital stays that these children face, whilst also creating lasting memories for the whole family. They also run their 'Inspire Through Sport' programmes and contribute towards 'Inspire Through Sport International' work.

This is how it works:

  • An introductory assembly (today) takes place before the event day (Friday June 28th), where the children are told about the challenge and they learn about the work Sports Connection Foundation does.

  • One of the ProKick Ambassadors, who are former professional footballers, will host the event on the 28th, bringing with them a giant inflatable goal.

  • Children are encouraged to kick the ball as fast as they can in to the goal and the speed is recorded on a digital screen in mph. Great fun!!

  • Every child receives a certificate with positive messages from Premier League and England Internationals.

  • Medals, trophies & unique Sports Connection Foundation footballs can also all be won!

Today the children will bring a sponsor form home. Please ensure they have it in school on Friday June 28th when the Prokick challenge takes place. All children will take part and have a great time whether they have sponsors or not. We have done this event in previous years and the children love it!
