Newsletter. Week beginning Monday October 29th  2018.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back. I hope you had a lovely half term with family and friends. We have a busy half term ahead culminating in lots of fun, glitter, stories and songs!!!

We will be holding an in school competition during this week for the children to win a book to celebrate our book fair which is being held on Wednesday November 7th and Thursday November 8th from 3.15pm – 4.15pm in the hall. The children will also be coming home with a wish list to let you know if there are any particular books that they would like from the fair. There is, of course, absolutely no obligation to buy these books, they are just a suggestion should you wish to attend. With Christmas around the corner it’s a good time to start shopping! After last year’s amazing results we hope you will come along and support the book fair in order to promote reading and help to resource our school library.

Primary Behaviour Service are offering a workshop for parents of Year R children. These are very informative and provide lots of useful advice and strategies. Please see attached information. Please return the reply slip by Friday November 9th..

Letters will be going home today with details of our Christmas performances, how to select your tickets and crèche details. Please return the relevant forms to school as soon as possible. If your form has not been received by November 16th  we will allocate tickets for you. If you have any questions please speak to the school office who will be happy to help. Please note only two tickets per child will be allocated.

Tammy Cockle, a member of our lunchtime team, left at the end of last half term in order to start her maternity leave. We all wish her well and are looking forward to a cuddle with her baby. Georgie Ware is retiring having worked here for many years as a valued member of the lunchtime team. We all wish Georgie a well-deserved retirement. Catharine Goodall is also leaving our lunchtime team and is off to pastures new. We wish Catharine all the best for the future and thank her for her support at lunchtimes.
We welcome four new members to our lunchtime team and I will provide more details in our newsletter once all of the paperwork and safeguarding procedures have been completed.

We will be selling poppies in school from Monday 5th November until Friday November 9th. If your child would like to buy a poppy they can bring money to school and Year 2 children will go around to the classes each day to sell poppies.

This week, your child will bring home a sample Christmas card that they have made. If you would like to purchase a pack or other gifts with this design, you will need to pay for your order on SCO Pay, but please send your completed order form back to your child’s class. Please check that your child’s name and class is spelt correctly and amend on the order form if necessary. The last day for orders will be Wednesday 14th November 2018. Many thanks.
