The children will come home on Thursday afternoon with information on how to get involved in basketball in the local area should they wish to do so.

LEARNING THROUGH LANDSCAPES- SUCCESSFUL BID!

I am pleased to report that Miss Morris (Year 2 leader and science subject leader) has been successful in her learning through landscapes application for funding and curriculum support. As part of this the teachers have already had some excellent training on how to take the curriculum outdoors. Well done Miss Morris.

SAFER INTERNET DAY

Tomorrow, Tuesday 5th February is Safer Internet Day across the country. The aim of Safer Internet Day is to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. In school the children will take part in a year group assembly and will undertake a range of activities from the UK Safer Internet Centre. We would like you to support this at home by talking through the main points on our school website about keeping safe online. Many thanks. http://www.shakespeareinfantschool.co.uk/keep-safe-online/

REMINDERS:

BEHAVIOUR REPORTS

As you know our behaviour management policy is based upon positively reinforcing good behaviour and celebrating appropriate behaviours in and around the classroom the school grounds as well as on educational visits. We have lots of systems in place to reward and celebrate good behaviour.

In order to ensure parents are fully informed of any behaviour, incidents or concerns which we feel you should know about, we will call you and send a written report home in an envelope. This is to ensure you know exactly what happened and what we are doing in school in order for you to be able to discuss with your child and respond as necessary.

PARENT APPREMINDER TO ALL YEAR R AND YEAR 1 PARENTS

You will have received a letter recently about the new Parent App. Please take this opportunity to sign up and review the contact data we hold on you and your child. If you have any problems registering please contact the school office for help.

CIVVIES DAY AND CAKE SALE

Thursday 14th February 2018 will be 'Civvies Day' and Cake Sale organised by SHINE. We ask that those children and staff wishing to participate in Civvies Day by wearing non uniform, bring cakes for us to sell at 3.15pm in the Hive. If your child would like to participate, we would appreciate any contributions of homemade or shop bought cakes to sell. We would be grateful if you could please ensure that any cakes supplied do not contain any nuts. Please bring your donations into your class on the morning of the event, and join us for the cake sale at 3.15pm. Many thanks for your continued support.

P.E KITS

Please ensure your child has a named P.E Kit in school. We have a few spare kits in school but not enough for the amount required.

SPARE CLOTHES

Please could any borrowed clothes be returned as we are running very short of spare pairs of trousers and girls underwear. We would also be grateful for any school trousers that your child may have grown out of to add to our emergency supply.
