Newsletter. Week beginning Monday January 7th 2019.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy New Year! Welcome back to all our children, families and staff.

CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES

Weren’t they all super!! Many thanks to everyone who made them so special. Collections at the performances raised an amazing total of £320.05 split equally between the NSPCC and The Dogs Trust. We also raised £77.95 for Save the Children on Christmas Jumper Day. Thank-you so much for your generosity.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

Gymnastics and Tennis clubs will resume this week. Multi-sports and Football will commence the week beginning 14th January 2019. Dance resumes Friday 25th January 2019. Parents are asked to collect their children from outside the music and drama room via the main gates rather than via the car park. We will open the gates a few minutes before the club’s finish time.

WINTER WEATHER PLAN

During the winter weather please note the following:

  • School closures will be posted onto the website between 7.30am and 8.00am. Updates will also be posted on the website. Please avoid accessing the website before then as too much “traffic” can prevent us from being able to upload new information
  • We will also send a message via Facebook and notifications via our app
  • Radio stations such as Ocean FM and Wave 105 carry up to date information
  • Hampshire County Council website lists all school closures every day
  • Please follow marked and salted paths and on the main playground. Please walk between cones around the school site. These areas are salted and safer to walk on. Do not walk on any other areas.

WELCOME, GOODBYE AND SEE YOU SOON!

At the end of last term we said a fond farewell to Mrs Canton who left to start her maternity leave. Mrs Gemma Ramsdale is returning from her maternity to teach Badger Class with Mrs Hellier. Mrs Ramsdale will also share the year leader role on a temporary basis with Mrs Hellier.

This term we warmly welcome Miss Cath Rendle who is spending this half term here in Otter Class with Miss Morris. This is her second placement school as part of her teacher training programme. Similarly we say good luck and see you soon to Mrs Wendy Johnson who will spend her second placement for this half term at Fryern Junior School.
