Dear Parents and Carers,

HARVEST FESTIVAL ASSEMBLY IN CHURCH.

Tomorrow, Tuesday October 9th, we are having our annual harvest festival assembly in church. Rev Mac will lead the assembly. We are collecting food for the Eastleigh Basic Bank. If you would like to send in a donation to support Eastleigh Basics Bank they have informed me that they need the following:

"We need more of the following, thank-you:

Cook-in-sauces, tinned meat meals (stew, hot dogs, ravioli, spaghetti bolognese, curry, meatballs, chicken etc), instant noodles, instant pasta sauces, jam, honey, marmalade, deodorants, long life milk, peanut butter, tinned tomatoes, desserts (jelly, Angel Delight, sponge puddings etc), savoury biscuits / crackers, ketchup, washing up liquid,

We also urgently need supplies of dog food and cat food - sachets, tins or boxes, most of them really aren't too fussy!

While we are always grateful for any food given to us, we do have plenty of stock of some products to last us for the next few months, specifically: baked beans, biscuits, porridge, tinned vegetables, long grain rice, kidney beans, tinned spaghetti, rice pudding and tinned custard . Many thanks for your kind donations."

LUNCHTIME SUPERVISORY ASSISTANT VACANCY.

We have a vacancy for a lunch time supervisor from November. If you are interested you will find all of the information on our website under vacancies. The closing date is Friday October 19th .

PARENT GOVERNOR VACANCY.

We have a vacancy for a parent governor. If you are interested in this role please do contact me to discuss further. Application forms are available in the school office. There is also more information about school governance on the Hampshire County Council website. The closing date is Friday October 12th .

GOLDEN MILE.

Many of you will have heard about the Golden Mile where children walk, run or jog up to a mile a day in order to improve health and fitness. We are introducing this during this term. We will initially aim for two / three times a week.

YEAR R CELEBRATION ASSEMBLIES.

We have decided to alter the format of the Year R celebration assemblies this year. We will begin the assemblies after half term and focus on positive learning behaviours eg listening, turn taking and sharing. The Year R children can find a large audience daunting particularly in the Autumn term when they have just started school. So we will postpone inviting parents to these assemblies until the children are in Year 1. We will arrange other opportunities for parents to come in and celebrate their child’s learning during the year.
