Newsletter. Thursday January 4th 2018

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy New Year! Welcome back to all our children, families and staff.

CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCES.

Weren’t they all super!! Many thanks to everyone who made them so special. We raised an amazing total of £427.80 split equally between Naomi House and The Blue Cross. Thank-you so much.

PANTOMIME

On the afternoon of Tuesday January 9th we are having a pantomime in school for the children to enjoy live theatre at a fraction of the cost of other shows.

This year it is Cinderella. The cost to the school is £890. We would welcome a voluntary contribution of £3 per child towards the cost. Many thanks.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

All after school clubs start back next week (week beginning Monday January 8th) and run right up until half term.

WINTER WEATHER PLAN

During the winter weather please note the following:

  • School closures will be posted onto the website between 7.30am and 8.00am. Updates will also be posted on the website. Please avoid accessing the website before then as too much “traffic” can prevent us from being able to upload new information
  • We will also send a message via Facebook and notifications via our app
  • Radio stations such as Ocean FM and Wave 105 carry up to date information
  • Hampshire County Council website lists all school closures every day
  • Please follow marked and salted paths and on the main playground. Please walk between cones around the school site. These areas are salted and safer to walk on. Do not walk on any other areas.

STREETS AHEAD-ROAD SAFETY TRAINING FOR YEAR 2 CHILDREN.

In the Summer term we are once again providing the Streets Ahead Scheme for all our Year 2 children. The scheme is delivered by volunteers who are trained by the Hampshire County Council Road Safety Team. We need more parents this year who are willing to be trained as Streets Ahead instructors and we will be running a Streets Ahead Pedestrian Training session for parents on the morning of Wednesday February 7th .If you are able to get involved in this brilliant scheme and would like further information, please do contact the school office or speak to Mrs Kesterson asap. Thank-you in anticipation of your support.
