Newsletter. Week beginning Tuesday September 4th 2018.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing break with family and friends’ enjoying what has been a fantastic summer weather wise. A warm welcome to our new children, families and staff. I must say how smart the children look in their school uniform and school shoes.

STAFF UPDATE

A very warm welcome to the following new members of staff who have joined our team:
Miss Carleigh O’Boyle who has joined our Year 1 team teaching Squirrel Class

Miss Florence Kinchin who has joined our Year R team teaching Butterfly Class

Miss Chloe McCabe who has joined our Year 1 team teaching Hedgehog Class

NEW READING DIARIES

We have had our own bespoke reading diaries made for all year groups. They look super and support how we approach reading at SIS. They are expensive so please do ensure that it is looked after. Please read with your child each day and write one comment a week in the space provided (see below). Please ensure it is back in your child’s book bag each day. The diary should last for the year. Lost diaries won’t be replaced but a new one can be purchased for £3.

NEW PHONE SYSTEM

Over the summer we had a new phone system installed with extra lines so hopefully you should not have any problems calling the school. There is a facility to leave a message if your child is absent that day. We may still call you to clarify if needed and still call each day unless we have agreed otherwise.

WELCOME TO YEAR 1 AND 2 MEETINGS

As detailed in your class letters last term we are repeating the meetings regarding what you need to know about Years 1 and 2. Well behaved younger siblings are welcome. They last approximately an hour.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 13th  2.15pm YEAR 1 MEETING IN HALL

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

After school clubs will start week beginning September 24th. These clubs are for Year 2 children but if we have any spaces we can offer them to Year 1 children. Parents and carers of Year 2 children will receive a letter this week.

ACADEMIC DIARY
Please note that the school academic diary for this academic year is now on the school website www.shakespeareinfantschool.co.uk.
