19 May
Hooray! One of our butterflies has hatched! It happened overnight so we didn't see it, but we are hoping the rest will follow soon.
12 May
We have had an amazing week recording all the creatures we have found in the pond, and doing some classification of the minibeasts we found in the school grounds.
Our caterpillars have turned into chrysalis' now, and we have put them into big netting enclosures ready for when they emerge!
5 May
Our caterpillars have amazed us by growing sooooooo quickly! We have also discovered that they can spin silk. We love looking at them through the magnifying glasses.
We have had some great times out on the field and in the sensory garden this week. Most of us have done some pond dipping, we have even worked with Mr Shears!
28 April
We had a surprise visit from Miss Ward this week! She came looking for our help. The year R children will be studying minibeasts later in the summer and the teachers need more information. In Fox Class, we agreed to create a 'minibeast trail' and to guide the Year R Classes around it to start their new project. We feel confident and more than ready for the challenge ahead.
26th April
Caterpillars in the classroom! To help us with our minibeast studies we have some caterpillar visitors. They arrived on Monday and they have already doubled in size!
Keep looking for updates over the next few weeks.
