Today Miss Browne will introduce you to some new phonics and spellings.
This week you will focus on learning about information texts. You will find out about the T-Rex today and build up to writing your own information text piece by the end of the week.

Today you will recap learning about the T-Rex. Alongside Miss Browne you will draw pictures for the non fiction text.
Herbivore/ Carnivore/ Omnivore sort. Look at PowerPoint. Talk about what the different words mean. Children to complete sheet and put the dinosaur’s in the right places.

Today you will need:
A piece of paper and a pencil
Today you will be learning about the past tense of regular verbs, learning key rules and practising putting sentences in the past tense.
Fossil sketch. Look at PowerPoints talking about what a fossil is. Children to have pictures of fossils and have to have a go at sketching them – Look at all of the detail, make it as accurate as they can.

A lined piece of paper, your picture plan from Tuesday and a pencil
With Miss Browne today you will be starting to write your information text about the T-Rex.
Dinosaur timeline. Look at dinosaur timeline and talk about the different eras. Explain that dinosaurs weren’t all around at the same time. Children to have a sheet to stick the dinosaur in the right place in time.

Today you will need:
The information text you have started to write, your picture plan and a pencil
With Miss Browne today you will finish writing your information text about a T-Rex. When you have finished you will check and edit it. After show someone in your house your fantastic work. Your class teacher would also love to see it so ask a grown up if you can email it to them.

iPad/Laptop on purple mash paint. Children to look closely at pictures of dinosaur scales. Can they re-create them on paint? Make sure to look at the detail!
