Make Your Own Magic Wand

Children to go out and find a stick that they want to use for their wand. Children collect any other bits they might want to stick on it. Children go back inside and decorate their wand in any way they like. They could use glitter/ sequins/ ribbon etc. Can you give your wand a magical name?

Miss Browne will explain what onomatopoeia is today. You will look at words that represent a sound. At the end you can have a go at adding some to a sentence.

Make a Magic Potion!

 

Children to go out with a bowl and their magic wand and find things to put in their potion. Children can use their imagination to make up different ingredients. Children to think about what the potion will do and to think of a spell that might go with it.

With Miss Browne you will make a simple plan for your poem. You will choose which object, sound word and animal for each sentence. You could use the same as Miss Browne or think of your own.

Write Up Your Magic Potion

Write about your magic potion.

Follow the sheet to write about your magic potion. Think about the ingredients you used, what it would look like and how you made it.

You will need - a pencil, lined paper and your plan from yesterday

 

Today you will write your poem using the plan you made yesterday. Once you have written your poem you could try drawing some pictures to go with it. 

You could perform your poem to someone in your house, I’m sure they will enjoy it!
