English –The Tiger who came to Tea – story map
You will need – a pencil and piece of plain paper.

Miss Browne will recap on the story of The Tiger who came to tea. She will then take you through how to draw your story map.
The piece of paper needs to be folded into 9 to do all the parts of the story.
When you have finished try to retell the story to someone else.

Discussion: How would you feel if a tiger came to tea? How was the tiger behaving? Imagine if a different animal came to tea – how would they behave? How are they different to the tiger? Talk about manners – what are they and what manners should the tiger have shown? Could you create an invitation to invite an animal to tea?

Today you will find out how to identify what a question is. You will look closely at adding in question marks. You will have to decide whether what is written is a sentence or a question. After you have done this you will write some questions about the story ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’

Starting to write your story
You will need – a piece of paper, pencil and your story map from yesterday.

Miss Browne will explain how to get ready for good writing. Ensuring you are positioned and sat properly.
You will practise some phonics sounds, spellings and begin to write the story.
You can either do this independently or work alongside Miss Browne.

DT –Log into Purple Mash and use the paint programme ‘2simple’ to design a label for a tin of tiger food – show children different tins of food that we eat. Show them the pictures on the label and the writing on the front so we can read what it inside. Remind children what tigers eat – they now have to design a tin of food for a tiger.
Art - Paint or sketch a picture of the tigers stripes – Show children the close up image of a tigers stripes and have to try and sketch + colour as accurately as they can.
Writing the end of the story
You will need – a pencil, your story map, your story and a coloured pen or pencil for editing.

You will recap the phonic sound. There will then be a spelling quiz with the spellings given by Miss Browne (do this if you wish to). You will then continue to write your story and do some editing. You will be checking for capital letters, full stops and question marks.
