General Information

Shakespeare is a County Infant School which caters for children from the September after their fourth birthday until the July of the year in which they are seven.

School Hours:

Morning:             Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 -        8.50 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.

                                    (with 15 minutes mid-morning break).

Afternoon:              Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 -      1.05 p.m. to 3.15 p.m.

                                    (YR pupils have a 15 minute break)      

Total time = 32 hours and 5 minutes

Children, parents and families are welcomed into the school from 8.40 a.m., when the teacher will be available to talk informally with parents. The teacher calls the children together for registration at 8.50 a.m, which is when the doors will close.  Children arriving after 9.15 am are registered as late which is an unauthorised absence.

At the end of the day parents and families are asked to wait for their children outside the external classroom door.  Children are taught to come straight back into class if their parent is not there to collect them.

The school office is open from 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.

Our School Induction Programme  

Children due to start school in the September are invited to attend a programme of induction activities.  This allows the children to become familiar with the school, meet some new friends and experience some stay and play sessions.  Parents meanwhile; have a chance to learn alongside their children and then listen to a speaker who will give information about the school.
