I am looking forward to meeting you all in September for your first year of 'big' school! We are going to have so much fun this year with lots of lovely learning. When you come to school, each term we will introduce you to a new project focusing on different areas, for example we have a project on fairy tales, pirates and minibeasts!

Our first project is called 'Let's get to know you' where we will play lots of games to get to know our classmates, become familiar with the classroom and explore the school grounds. We ask if you can participate in our home learning project over the summer holidays, you can find more information under the 'Home learning' tab, also it has been sent to you with your class letter.

Please have a look at our classroom tour and a welcome video to meet myself and listening to a favourite story I have read for you.

Other important information about school:

Each week, we do P.E on a Wednesday morning (Work Out Wednesdays). This term we will be getting to know the hall and learning about spacial awareness. Please make sure your child comes into school wearing their P.E kit.

On a Monday, we will have a shorter P.E session in school uniform. Please send your child into school with appropriate footwear.

We do a guided reading session everyday so it is important that your child's reading diary and book is in the bookbag everyday. We will be learning the Oxford Reading Tree (ORT) character names and recognition of them.

What you need

Please make sure you bring your water bottle (please carry separately) and book bag to school each day.
